Dr. Gina M. Sully

Dr. Sully is originally from Buffalo, New York. She was awarded both the Rogers and Bennett fellowships for graduate study at UNLV and graduated with high honors in 2011 with a PhD in English, a Master’s-level minor in composition and rhetoric, and a graduate certificate in Women’s Studies. In addition to her work at the Writing Center, Dr. Sully teaches Women’s Studies and is a referee and Associate Editor of Pop Culture Review, a peer-reviewed journal that explores the roles of popular culture in society. She calls Writing Center work her “dream job” and says her favorite part of it is working with writers from a variety of disciplines because “I get to learn about all kinds of things I wouldn’t have time for otherwise!” She dances every day.

Sara Tajalli

Sara earned her B.A. in Linguistics from UNLV and went on to earn her M.A. in Applied Linguistics at Georgia State University. Prior to coming to UNLV, she tutored and taught ESL in Atlanta, GA and Istanbul, Turkey. In the past, she taught ESL courses and ENG 114 at UNLV. Sara is interested in second language acquisition, linguistic interference, and historical linguistics.  She puts lemon on almost everything she eats, loves anything Jenny Lewis creates, and quotes 30 Rock on a regular basis.

Professional Writing Consultant
Jesse Cook

Jesse is originally from St. George, UT. He earned his B.S. in English at Dixie State University and 
 is a graduate of UNLV’s Master of Arts program with a focus in American literature. He has been a Writing Center consultant for almost four years, and enjoys working on all types of papers. Jesse is in the throes of preparing applications for PhD programs where he would like to continue his work on the publication practices of authors, and how these practices influence the formation of their books. In his free time, Jesse enjoys reading comics and graphic novels.
