UNLV Writing Center

	Carol Carol graduated from UNLV in December 2003 with a BS in Theatre and is now studying for her MA in English. Originally from Chicago, she has lived in Las Vegas since 1961. She has three grown children and lots of grandchildren. In addition to her love for the quest of knowledge, her hobbies are entertaining, gardening, and the Nevada Conservatory Theatre at UNLV.
	Stephanie From California, Stephanie is in the English Composition and Language program at UNLV and also did her undergraduate work here. She has many hobbies, such as travel, hiking, her birds, and zombie films.
	Jeanne A New York native, Jeanne hails from Long Island. She is studying secondary education with an emphasis in English. Out of class, she likes swimming, watching movies (especially comedies), and reading.
	Ben Travelling to Vegas from the far off land of Erie, Pennsylvania, Ben’s literary interests include contemporary fiction and playwriting. When he isn’t writing, he enjoys playing golf and tennis, as well as watching films.
	Emily Emily hails from Salt Lake City and received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Utah. Her academic interests include poetry and creative writing. In her spare time she likes to play soccer and the guitar.
	Oscar Joining us from mystical Santa Fe, Oscar originally majored in English and minored in Theatre. He is currently working on his MFA in Poetry. In his free time he likes improv comedy, Rah music and charms.
	Marina Marina joins us from Metkovic, Croatia, and received her undergraduate degree in Hotel Management from UNLV. She also holds an MA in TESOL, and currently teaches ENG 113 and 114 here at UNLV. She loves reading, baking and home improvement.
	Kathryn Kat is from Evanston, Illinois, and studied at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. At UNLV she is an MFA student in fiction. Kathryn has taught ESL in Bolivia and Korea and enjoys various hobbies including music, horse riding, and swimming.
	Shannon Shannon comes from glamorous Irvine, California, travelling to northern California to receive her BA in English. Her interests include travelling, enjoying the great outdoors, being happy, plants, bodies of water and dining at tiny restaurants.
	Michelle Michelle is a Las Vegan but is originally from Tucson. She completed her undergraduate degree at UNLV and is now working on an MA. Her emphasis is 19th-20th century American literature, especially Steinbeck and Twain. She enjoys baking, travelling, and many outdoor activities.
	Roderick Originally from Panama, Roderick is currently studying English and linguistics. He enjoys literature from the late 1700’s to the present, philosophical works in particular. His interests include researching articles on nutrition, politics and automobile technology on the Internet.
	Huston A Las Vegas native, Huston received his BA in English from UNLV. He is currently working on his MA in English Literature. He reading interests include American literature.
	Jeanette A rarity around these parts, Jeanette is a 4th generation Las Vegan! She is currently studying for the LSAT and has an MA in English from UNLV. She enjoys reading Western American, Colonial and Native American literature; in particular she likes Twain, Poe and Mather. When she isn’t studying or teaching, Jeanette loves to cook, read and spend time with her family.
	Karen A Las Vegas native, Karen received her BA in English from UNLV and is currently working on her Ph.D. She has taught a variety of literature and writing courses both at UNLV and other universities. She enjoys Gothic, African American and 19th century American literature, as well as literature dealing with disabilities. In her spare time she loves to draw, create origami art and garden.
	Ashley Seeking respite in Las Vegas from the bitter winters of Minneapolis, MN, Ashley originally majored in Filmmaking. She is currently studying for an MFA in Creative Writing, and enjoys filmmaking, photography, reading and running in her spare time.
	Andrew Originally from Houston, Andrew is currently working on his MFA in Creative Writing.
	Jordan Jordan comes from Sacramento, California, where he studied English at CSU Sacramento. He is especially interested in contemporary poetry and poetics. His hobbies include golfing, watching independent films and visiting independent art galleries.
	Eunai Eunai joins us from Seoul, Korea, where she received her BA in Western History and English Literature. She loves to read 19th century Victorian novels, as well as post-colonial and transnational literature. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking.
	Mark Mark received his BS in Math from the University from Arizona. He previously taught mathematics and English courses in Thailand, and is now working towards an MFA in Creative Writing with a focus in fiction.
