The Writing Center offers services and resources to all UNLV students, staff, and faculty. With that purpose in mind, listed below are the current resources we have specifically geared towards helping faculty in their writing-based instruction.
Interested in the Writing Center paying a visit to your classroom? Writing Center representatives are available via request for short and informative classroom presentations on our services and consultations throughout the academic year. Classroom presentations run from 10-15 minutes and can be scheduled at the instructor's convenience. To account for proper scheduling, we only ask that requests be made at least one week in advance.
The Writing Center is also available for specialized presentations, such as Outlining, MLA & APA Formatting, Writing Abstracts, and more. Please designate what writing-based topic you would like a representative to address in the "Special Instructions" area of the submission form. We will do our best to accommodate all requests. Specialized presentation requests must be made two weeks in advance.

You can now integrate a Writing Center module into your course Canvas shells. In the Writing Center module, you'll find information on our services, a link to our Online Writing Lab (OWL), and resources on MLA & APA formatting.
If you'd like to incorporate the module into your courses, search UNLV Writing Center Resources in the Canvas Learning Commons.
In addition to the Writing Links we provide for students, the Writing Center has also compiled links to external sources to assist instructors with teaching the art of writing. You can find these outside resources on our Instructor Links page.
Our Writing Center staff has assembled a collection of video presentations on topics such as sentence mechanics, the SQ3R method, punctuation, among others. These videos can be found on our Writing Presentations page.
